International Attendees
Festival films can be viewed in the U.S. only. Due to rights restrictions, most products cannot be gifted, transferred, or redeemed outside of the United States. Please review our ticketing page for more information.
If you reside outside of the United States and are having issues completing your purchase for in-person passes, packages, or tickets, please contact sundancesupport@sundance.org.
Attending as a Group
If you’re planning to experience the Festival with a group (such as your partner or family), we recommend that each member of your party has their tickets in their account to help avoid potential issues when attending films. If you choose to have one member of your party hold on to the tickets for everyone, please be aware that other people in your group will not be able to vote for films unless they have a ticket in their own account. Groups will only be seated at screenings when all of the party members are present.
Queue-it
If you are purchasing tickets on a busy, on-sale day, you will likely encounter Queue-it, an online system that helps keep the ticket-buying experience fair and accessible to Festival attendees. Queue-it is similar to online queuing services you may have encountered when purchasing tickets for other in-demand, in-person events.
There are two different parts of the Queue-it process: the pre-queue and the waiting room. The pre-queue starts around 15 to 20 minutes before the on-sale time and will display a countdown indicating how much time is left before the sale begins. The waiting room is where you are taken after the pre-queue completes. In the waiting room, you will see a progress bar indicating the estimated time that remains until you can purchase tickets.
When it is your time to purchase, you will receive a notification. You must click on a modal in the waiting room tab to confirm, and you’ll be taken to the website where you can select and purchase your tickets. You can also enter your email address while in the waiting room and we will contact you when it is time to purchase your tickets.
For example, if you are visiting the ticketing page on January 14 to purchase Single Film Tickets just before they go on sale at 10 a.m. MT, you will first enter a pre-queue. At 10 a.m., you will then enter the waiting room until it is your time to select and purchase your Single Film Tickets, or until you receive an email notifying you that you can now make your purchase.
Here are the days and sales when the Queue-it system will be in place:
- Public Package Fulfillment – 01/12/26
Queue-it may also be implemented on additional days when our online ticketing page is experiencing heavy traffic.
Additional Tips for Buying Tickets
Here are some helpful tips for Festival attendees to get tickets:
- Look for newly released tickets: If a film currently appears as sold out, additional tickets may become available in the future. Check back regularly on the film’s detail page to see if new tickets are available.
- Use the Waitlist: The Waitlist gives you a chance to obtain a spot for a sold-out screening when no tickets are available.
- Check Your App: Find in-person screenings with tickets available in the 2026 Sundance Film Festival Mobile App. Open your app, go to My Schedule, and a yellow box will populate with screenings that fit within your schedule and still have tickets available.
- Head to Salt Lake City: Many popular Festival films have screenings across the Salt Lake City area. Look online to see if tickets are still available.
Watch online: Online tickets are still available for many Festival films.
Ticketing FAQ
How can I tell if a film is sold out?
If you have Favorited a film that is now sold out, your “My Festival Schedule” dashboard will have a grayed-out “SOLD OUT” button in place of where you would normally be able to click “ORDER TICKETS.”
Why can’t I add more packages to my cart?
There is a limit on how many passes or packages can be purchased per account. Most package types, such as the Festival Package, are limited to two per account. If you purchase more than two of these package types, you’ll need to gift the additional one to another person with an account. The Locals Package, Salt Lake City Pass, and Ignite Package are limited to one per account and cannot be gifted or transferred.
Why is it making me send a product as a gift?
If you’re being asked to send a product as a gift, it’s because you’ve exceeded the amount of passes or packages you may have in your own account. There is a limit of two of any package type per account.
You are allowed to purchase or use up to 10 tickets to a specific screening, but you are only allowed to keep one ticket for yourself. You will be prompted to gift any extra tickets at checkout.
Why isn’t my promo code working?
Promo codes have a variety of restrictions, so please read the fine print on the code you are trying to use. Promo codes are also case-sensitive and subject to limited quantities. If you are seeing an error stating that the maximum number of uses has been met, then your promo code is no longer available.
What form of payment is accepted?
The Festival will be entirely cashless. All official Festival tickets, merchandise, and any other product purchases will be transacted digitally, no physical money will be accepted.
However, vendors and businesses not officially associated with the Festival, such as stores and restaurants in Park City and in Salt Lake City, may accept cash as a payment type.

All public pass, package, and ticket sales are final. Refunds and exchanges are not permitted except as set forth below and at Sundance Institute’s sole discretion.
- If the in-person portion of the Festival is canceled, attendees who purchased an in-person pass or package will receive a refund of the pass or package price. Attendees with in-person Single Film Tickets can receive a refund of the ticket price or exchange the in-person ticket for an online ticket (subject to online availability).
- If the entire Festival is postponed or canceled, all passholders, packageholders, and ticketholders will receive a refund of the product price.
Refunds will be issued to the credit card account used to make the purchase. Please note that payment processing fees will not be refunded.
Terms and Conditions
Ticket Selection: Screenings are available on a first-come, first-served basis, so make your ticket selections early. Packages can be redeemed for ticket selections starting in January. Packageholders must have a ticket for admission to each screening. After your ticket selection transaction is complete, you will receive an email confirmation containing your ticket(s).
In-Person Screening Rules: All ticketholders must be in the appropriate line at the venue at least 15 minutes before a film’s published start time. We recommend arriving earlier to secure your seat; venue capacity is limited, and tickets do not guarantee admission. Each person is required to present a unique digital ticket for admission. Ticketholders not able to gain entry will be provided a voucher to be redeemed for another film screening.
Limitations and Refunds: There is a purchase limit of 10 Single Film Tickets per person per screening for the Festival, regardless of whether the tickets are for individual use, gift, or transfer. Tickets for free public summer screenings are limited to two per person per event. Tickets are nonrefundable, and all sales are final. Please review our Refund Policy for more details. Viewing is not available outside the United States. If you are having issues completing your purchase, please contact us at sundancesupport@sundance.org.
Gifting: To gift Festival tickets to someone, you must check the “This Is a Gift” box at checkout. For additional help, see our Ticketing Support page.
Ticket Resale: Sundance Institute does not authorize the selling or use of Sundance Film Festival ticketing products through any third-party vendors. Sundance Institute reserves the right to invalidate any ticket products obtained from unauthorized sources and to refuse to honor entry and the use of such tickets, without refund.
Image and Likeness Release: By attending any Sundance Institute screenings or events, you irrevocably grant Sundance Institute and its partners the perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free, sublicensable right and license to photograph, videotape, record, and otherwise reproduce your image, voice, and likeness (“IVL”) in any context at the event. You further grant Sundance Institute the right to use, reproduce, distribute, publicly display, edit, modify, and otherwise exploit your IVL, in whole or in part, in connection with any materials related to the event or for any promotional, marketing, advertising, educational, archival, commercial, or other legitimate purposes, in any and all media now known or hereafter devised, without further notice, permission, or compensation. You hereby release and discharge Sundance Institute and its trustees, officers, employees, and agents from any and all claims, demands, or causes of action arising out of or in connection with the permitted uses of your IVL as described herein.
Code of Conduct: Sundance Institute reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to refuse admission, remove from the premises, and/or cancel or revoke the ticket (without refund) of any person who violates these terms and conditions or the Community Agreement, or whose conduct is deemed objectionable, in Sundance Institute’s sole discretion.
Liability Waiver: By purchasing this item, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless Sundance Institute and its trustees, officers, employees, and agents from any claims, liabilities, expenses, and damages arising out of any claims you may have against Sundance Institute from your breach of any relevant terms and conditions and any loss, damage, injury, liability, or expense you may suffer arising from or connected to your presence at the Sundance Film Festival or any other Institute screenings or events due to any reason whatsoever. You further acknowledge that an inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 or other illnesses exists in any public place where people are present. You acknowledge and agree that you voluntarily assume the risks related to exposure to COVID-19 and other illnesses by attending any Sundance Institute screenings or events, and that you will not hold Sundance Institute liable for any illness that may result.
Anti-Piracy Statement
Please respect the work and livelihoods of our filmmakers and do not copy, rebroadcast, or distribute any film, or any portion thereof, each of which constitutes copyright infringement under United States and international copyright laws. We ask that you enjoy Festival films as they were intended: to be viewed in theaters and in small home gatherings, and streamed on the Sundance Film Festival digital platform. Please understand that even posting a few seconds of a film on platforms like TikTok or Instagram to demonstrate your support can have a significant negative impact on the filmmakers’ ability to create and share their work.
Sundance Institute will take appropriate action against attendees who attempt to pirate, exhibit, or record any Festival films or other Festival content. The state of Utah bans piracy as set forth in Utah Statute on Piracy 13-10b-201. Copying copyrighted works can also subject you to civil statutory damages of up to $150,000 per work and felony criminal charges resulting in imprisonment. Sundance Film Festival takes extensive measures to curtail piracy, including digital (visible) and forensic (invisible) watermarking.
Cameras and recording devices are strictly prohibited during the screenings. Our staff are trained to handle piracy in accordance with state and federal law and will cooperate with local, state, and federal law enforcement on piracy-related matters. We reserve the right to eject any person who is recording or photographing during the screening without authorization.

How to Join a Waitlist
Didn’t get a ticket or seat to that film you really wanted to see? You still may be able to attend by joining a waitlist for that screening.
Waitlists are available for sold-out in-person screenings. Entry for individual waitlists opens two hours before showtime and closes 30 minutes prior. While the number associated with your Waitlist Pass reflects your position in line, we still advise that you arrive early to your intended screening. You can also add a companion to your Waitlist Pass (you will both receive a number that determines your place in the queue).
To join a Waitlist, first find the screening you want to attend, then follow the steps below to join the Waitlist via the mobile app or Festival website.
Waitlist attendees are required to check in at the venue at least 30 minutes prior to scheduled screening start time. If you arrive after 30 mins, you will be asked to queue at the end of the line regardless of your waitlist number.
